We met in 2002. It’s a cute story.
In 2004, we decided to move in together, and then decided to buy a condo together. We searched for months and months, and finally found a place we loved. A year later, we got engaged, and a year after that we got married. Along the way, we kept a blog, The Making of a Home, about moving in together, home improvement adventures, gardening, travel, and our idiot cats.
In the summer of 2008, the blog got a temporary facelift and became The Wandering Weiszes, as it followed us on an epic three week Great Lakes road trip that included some crazy museums, illegal camping, and secret swimming holes, and was so awesome that we got to tell Phil Ponce all about it.
In 2007, we decided to try to start a family. We thought it would be easy, but it wasn’t, eventually taking 20 months and a magical round of IVF. We didn’t blog about it while it was happening, but as soon as we were safely through the first trimester, in the fall of 2008, The Making of a Home turned into The Making of a Family. We’ve shared our journey through fertility treatment, stroller shopping, and false labor.
On June 20, 2009, Ezra Stanley was born and now we’re parents. Crazy.
