I have always been intrigued by the way kids start to understand animals. I think it’s insanely complicated and cool that they can look at a photo of a lion, a drawing (sometimes extremely abstract) of a lion, or a lion at the zoo, and know that they are all lions. And on top of that, they are able to associate the word “roar” with the lion, and know that the actual sound a lion makes is a roar, even though it doesn’t much sound like the word the way it is commonly said.
Ezra has always been an animal lover, and recently his vocabulary of animal sounds has exploded. And some of them are hilarious.
